At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic I was contacted by UFSC and asked to start producing face shields that were to be used in hospitals by first responders. The face shields were produced in a 3D printer and as soon as we formed a team, three printers started working to supply the cities around Araranguá - SC.
The work was voluntary and face shields were all donated to institutions. Due to the publicity work we also did, we received countless requests from schools, hospitals, health units, and offices. Thanks to the teamwork, we were able to meet almost all of the requests. In addition to contributing to the control of the pandemic, we could also refine our 3D printing techniques and machine maintenance.
